General STEM has real value โ particularly for younger children where curiosity and exploration matter more than formal structure. It is excellent for:

Which is Right for Your Child?

Ages 4โ8: General STEM First
At this age, the priority is building a love of learning, not academic rigour. General STEM โ hands-on experiments, number games, nature observation, logic puzzles โ is exactly right here. Children need to feel that Maths and Science are exciting before they encounter the formal structure of a curriculum framework.
Ages 9โ11: Transition to Cambridge Primary
By age 9, children are cognitively ready for structured learning. Cambridge Primary Mathematics and Sciences provide the systematic progression they need. Without this structure, gaps begin to form โ and those gaps compound as the difficulty increases.
Ages 12โ16: Cambridge is Essential
At secondary level, general STEM alone is insufficient if your child has academic ambitions. Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE qualifications are recognised by universities worldwide. A student on a Cambridge pathway at 12 will have a fundamentally stronger foundation at 16 than one who remained on a general STEM programme.
